Summer wih the Best

Marley also spent time with the Best side of the family. We were so fortunate to spend quality time with with Mahmondyla, Baba, Simon, Asha and Aram. Marley had such a great time with his cousins. Simon showed Marls how to launch foam rockets, Asha showed us her groovy moves to Yo Gabba Gabba, Mahmondyla was fearless with the water sprinklers and Babu just made Marley crack up! Marley had the Best time.

Stomp Babies @Bryant Park NYC

This Summer lead us to visit family and friends on the east coast. Our dearest group of friends, our STOMP family. I've known these people for 15years and they are like my brother and sisters. We grew, we laughed, we loved and as a result brought into this world a new generation of musical talent!

One, never in a million years would I have dreamt becoming a mom around the same time as my girls Fiona,Stephanie, and Coralissa. And two, our sons love eachother and click just like their fathers. It is so crazy to me that we've been able to share the show that brought us all together. Talk about full circle!

A Canadian Reunion

We had the honor of celebrating my Auntie Fel and Uncle Leonard's 40th wedding anniversary in Markham, Canada. We celebrated with 3 generations of Horsfords and it was a blast. As my auntie Grace says "we are passing the torch". So, we all walk in honor of our grandfather and his legacy. So blessed to have a family, that believes in togetherness no matter what the circumstances. To learn honor in your name is a priceless gift, a gift that I will instill in my son. And god willing he will one day celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and the torch will then be passed onto the 4th generation. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store.

Marley visits CANADA!

This summer we visited Niagara Falls on the Canadian side of the border on July 4, 2011. It was an amazing site to see. I am a big fan of scenic views which capture water.....beaches, rivers, creeks, falls.....I love it! Something about it is so relaxing, it lulls me into this deep calmness. Sometimes I think I could watch it for hours on end.

Sharing this visit to one of the 7 natural wonders of the world with Marley and the family was a very special day for me. Call me a romantic but The idea of family, togetherness, love and my Marley is as big as a beautiful miracle as those fall behinds us.

The Best Father's Day

Parenting a child is one of the biggest privileges life has to offer. It is a blessing and joy to wake up everyday with a smile and go to bed with with peace that your child is safe and sound. This Fathers Day I am so appreciative of Ahmed for setting a great example of being a loving husband, a loyal friend and honorable human being. I am so happy that I am raising our child with the very best we both have to offer.

Watching a Father/Son dynamic is so cool. Marley's eyes light, Daddy's eyes light up, When daddy calls out for Marley his voices gets high and Marley's voice gets low, Daddy jumps up and down and Marley changes his walk and makes his body strong, flexing his muscles.

He has associated certain items with "Daddy" . Like: Coffee, gadgets, offices and the hum of any engine "Daddy?" He has incredible athletic, developmental skills, and amazing musical sensibility. It's frightening sometimes! It just goes to show you how some things are just in the blood. Like father ....Like son. Happy Fathers Day!

Best Buddies

The Best family has been blessed with a lot of support living in Los Angeles. Living in a state without immediate family can be very challenging and difficult at times. I don't know what we did to deserve all the beautiful friends in our lives , but we have some incredible people that step up to the plate in the most selfless manner and I thank you all.

I want to dedicate this entry to our friends May-har and Crimson. Our sons are only a couple of days apart and have known each other since the beginning. They've had countless play dates at the park,zoo,kids club, birthday parties, etc. They are best buddies and its just been a pleasure to watch these two pure innocent beings blossom into a beautiful friendship. They can play, fight and make up in one breath......And history is forgotten. They have learned so much from eacho ther and we've learned so much from them. May-har and Crimson are moving to Las Vegas this week and we will miss them tremendously. I will miss my Mommy to Mommy time with May-har and Marley will miss May-Har and Crimsom time. You guys will always have a place in our hearts. xoxoxoox

Firefighters Fundraising Event

Marley had such a great time with his buddy Crimson. They danced in the streets to the sound of funk , in a mist of bubbles! They also got a chance to sit in a vintage 1931 Fire Truck. A very exciting day for a little boy.
